2026 Local Officer & Executive Board Member Elections

The Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 9511 is pleased to announce the beginning of the 2026 Local Officer & Executive Board Member Election process.

Because our Local represents members across many different work groups and employers, we encourage every member to review the election information carefully and stay informed throughout the nomination and election process.

The official election documents are available below. Please review each document in its entirety, as they contain important information regarding nominations, eligibility, election procedures, deadlines, and member participation.

September Membership Meeting - In Person

Please note: The September Membership Meeting will be held IN PERSON on:

Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 6:30 PM

This meeting will include information related to the 2026 Local Officer & Executive Board Member Elections, and members are encouraged to attend.

2026 ELECTION TIMELINE

09/01/2026      Notice of Nomination mailed to all members at their last known address on file.

09/01/2026 -    Membership list inspection period.
09/16/2026

09/16/2026      *Nominations Meeting - In Person - Meeting starts at 6:00PM
              *Nominations received in writing (email, fax, mail) must be submitted
               no later than 6:00PM on September 16, 2026 to the Election Committee.
              *In person Nominations must be received by the close of nominations.
              *Members nominated for office must either be present at the Nominations
               meeting or submit a written acceptance of their nomination. Written
               acceptance must be received by the close of the nominations meeting.
               Acceptance forms will be provided to all nominated candidates who are present.
               Note: Nomination acceptance forms and self-nomination forms are included
               in the packet.

09/17/2026      *Campaign Rules mailed to all candidates not present at nomination meeting.

10/07/2026      *Deadline for Candidates' Campaign Literature for the joint mailing - 9:00AM

10/08/2026      *Joint mailing preparation of Campaign Literature - Local Office at 9:00AM

10/13/2026      Ballots mailed to all members in good standing.

10/13/2026 -    Duplicate ballot request period - Contact Election Committee Chair.
10/27/2026      No duplicate ballots will be issued in person. All duplicate ballots will be mailed.

11/04/2026      *Voted ballots must be received at the post office no later than 11:00AM

              Pick-up from Post Office 11:00AM
              *Ballot Tally - Local Office at approximately 12:30PM

11/14/2026      Election Protest Deadline at 4:30PM
              Emailed to: [email protected]

RUN-OFF ELECTION

On or about     *Run-off Election Ballot packages mailed to all members.
11/16/2026      *Run-off Election Notice posted on website and mailed to all members.

11/25/2026      Run-off Election Ballot count at CWA Local 9511.

12/05/2026      Run-off Election Protest Deadline at 12:00PM
              Emailed to: [email protected]

10/29/2026      Last day for members to pay their dues to vote. Dues must be paid no
              later than 12:00PM

12/01/2026      Installation of Officers - next regular membership meeting following
              the Election
